Project 8: 20th Century Artists Stools

20th Century artists are often not understood.  The goal of this project is to help students gain understanding and appreciation for abstract and non-objective work created during the 20th century.  Artists work at this time reflected world events, their personal life, and their culture.  After viewing works by 40 different artists, students chose one they felt most connected to.  By researching and analyzing different paintings by their artist, students gained insight into their artists inspiration and motivation for creating what they did.  Students designed and painted their stool in acrylic paint using their artist as inspiration.
