Project 7: Mirror Mask Self-Reflection Photography
In the film Mirror Mask the main character, Helena, faces many challenges, sees herself through windows, and fights to become who she knows she can be. After watching the film, students have a choice of 5 different projects. Each one requires 30 photographs taken by the student which will be used to create a larger project. The project choices ask students to reflect on their lives, their challenges, and require them to look inside themselves. In the end, one typed page of reflective writing will accompany each project.
In order to take more successful photographs, professional photographer Fiorella Perini, came as a guest speaker. She talked about perspective, subject size, lighting, composition, framing, and rule of thirds.
